Soccer Season (April-August 2008)

This year we had 3 soccer players in the family, and I (Leonie) wasn't one of them!! All 3 played for Western Rangers Football Club, which is just around the corner from our place. Wayne also coached Daisie's team. Saturdays were very busy for a few months! Here's some photos of both training and games - Western Rangers wear green. I didn't take enough pictures, but they both got "Player of the Day" a couple of times and both girls also got the coveted "Sportsmanship On and Off the Field" award at the end of the season - we're very proud of their achievements!

Susie Reads (Nov 2008)

Although Susie has been able to read for at least a year now, she has only recently really begun reading books from cover to cover, and spending a fair bit of her free time reading rather than doing other things. I couldn't resist this photo last night!

Some of the events of April 2008

The Hawkes Bay Race Course is just around the corner from where we live, and Daisie has developed an interest in horses over the past couple of years, so a couple of times we have been along to see the horses and the racing when there have been no entry fees.

One day the girls and I walked over to the local soccer ground and they had fun flying their kite!

I have tried to have the girls make dinner on a regular basis, and this particular week they had a kids cookbook out from the library that they picked out some recipes from. So they made pizza from scratch, and we also made chocolate mousse for dessert. It was a delicious dinner! Susie is holding her nose in the 2nd picture because she doesn't like the smell of the yeast!

Daisie's 8th Birthday

OK, so this happened a little while ago - April 22nd to be exact - but since I am such a stickler for doing things "in order" I have to go back this far to catch up where I left off!!

Daisie went to lunch with Daddy, then had her friend Adele over for the afternoon to watch a movie, eat dinner, and stay for a sleepover.
